Artist Statement

Souhila Ebrahim’s artistic practice is an ongoing process of exploration and self-inquiry based on research, experimentation, and close observation of inner experiences. She approaches art as a space for asking questions rather than giving answers, where intuition, memory, and emotions guide the direction of the work.

Psychology plays a central role in her practice, especially in relation to dreams, the unconscious, and emotional states. This is reflected in how she builds her work and the themes she repeatedly returns to. She moves between drawing and mixed media, but watercolors remain the medium closest to her practice—viewing them as a free medium and a real partner in the process of creation rather than just a tool.

Through this practice, she aims to translate psychological experiences into visual forms and sensory spaces that invite reflection and emotional engagement. Her work serves as a personal visual record of everything she knows about herself and everything she has yet to discover.
