Gamila Roshdy, 25 years old. My relationship with photography began years ago, but my real breakthrough came in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then that I started sharing my work on my Instagram account. In 2022, I had my first experience shooting on film, a unique experience that deepened my connection to this genre. I then participated in Cairo Photography Week in 2023, and in 2024, I created my first Photo Dummy Book as part of the “Safina 7” program with Dania Hani. In 2026, I participated in the “Turathi 7” exhibition with Phlog.

Artistic Statement:

I believe in the importance of documenting simple and beautiful moments amidst the fast-paced and challenging rhythm of life. I find photography to be a genuine way to express feelings and ideas more easily and profoundly than words. For me, it’s a space for human connection and preserving fleeting details that may seem small but hold a great deal of meaning.
